Is my data secure on PIKD?
Yes, PIKD is designed with state-of-the-art security measures to protect user data. All data traffic is encrypted in transit using the latest secure cipher suites and protocols. Additionally, all customer data is encrypted at rest, ensuring that stored files remain secure at all times.
How does PIKD protect my files from unauthorized access?
PIKD ensures that user files remain secure through a multi-layered security approach:
✔ Encryption: All stored data is encrypted at rest, and all traffic is secured with end-to-end encryption.
✔ Secure Storage Architecture: Files are stored in an infrastructure with 99.999999999% durability (11 nines). This is a enterprise grade security & compliance architecture trusted by banks and government agencies. Read more about 11 Nines here.
✔ Access Controls: Users can restrict file access and password-protect shared galleries to prevent unauthorized access.
Can I password-protect shared galleries?
Yes, shared links can be protected with a password to ensure only authorized users can access them. Additionally, PIKD allows users to customize the background image for the secure share page, providing a professional and branded experience for clients. Clients can only access the gallery after entering the correct access code.
Does PIKD comply with GDPR and other privacy regulations?
Yes, PIKD is fully GDPR-compliant. Users have granular control over cookie settings and can manage their data transparently. PIKD provides:
✔ Clear information on data storage and usage
✔ The ability to request data deletion
✔ Full control over stored personal information
All data retention policies are in line with GDPR regulations, ensuring user privacy and data protection.
What happens if I delete a file—can it be recovered?
Currently, deleted files cannot be restored. Once a file is removed from your account, it is also permanently deleted from PIKD’s backup storage.
PIKD is considering implementing a 60-day recovery window in the future, but for now, it is recommended to only delete files if you are sure you no longer need them.
To avoid accidental deletion, you can move files from the Collaboration section to the Backup section instead of deleting them. This ensures they are archived but still accessible if needed.
