Can I rename files in PIKD without re-importing them into Capture One or Lightroom?

Yes! If you need to adjust filenames due to a new naming convention, typo correction, or workflow update, you don’t have to export and reimport images from Capture One, Lightroom, or other editing tools. You can rename files directly in PIKD and match them with your local session or backup effortlessly.

Renaming Individual Files

If you need to rename a single image, follow these steps:

  • Select the image and open the image options menu.

  • Click on "Edit Filename".

  • Enter the new file name and save.

Renaming Multiple Files in Batch

For renaming multiple images at once, use the Batch Rename feature:

  • Select multiple files or click "Select All" to rename the entire session.

  • Click on the "Bulk Rename" icon in the bottom bar.

  • Enter the new name format, choose the position (suffix or prefix), and set the numeration start number.

  • Confirm and save the changes.

This allows you to efficiently standardize filenames, keeping your workflow structured and eliminating the need for manual renaming in external software.
