What is a Link Preview?

The link preview (also called an Open Graph preview) is the image, title, and description that appear when you share a gallery link via email, social media, or messaging apps.

It’s the first impression your client or audience sees before clicking the link.

Default Settings (All Plans)

When you share a gallery or folder, PIKD automatically generates the preview using:

  • Image: The Gallery Cover you set in PIKD

  • Title: The folder or project name, displayed as: "Folder/Project Name – Shared Gallery | PIKD.io"

  • Description: "View and download XX items in this private gallery on PIKD.io. Secure, private photo sharing for professionals."

If you don’t set a Gallery Cover, the first image in the gallery will be used.

Pro Plan – Full Customization

With a Pro account, you can make the gallery preview match your branding and presentation style:

  • Custom Title – Change how the link title appears when shared

  • Custom Description – Write your own summary or call-to-action

  • Custom Preview Image – Upload your own Open Graph image instead of using the gallery cover

This gives you total control over how your shared link looks in:

  • Emails

  • Social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)

  • Messaging apps (WhatsApp, iMessage, etc.)

Why It Matters

  • First Impressions Count – A professional preview makes your client more likely to click

  • Brand Consistency – Match your wording and image to your brand

  • More Engagement – A tailored description can drive faster client responses

How to Change the Open Graph Image & Meta Info (Pro)

  • Go to your gallery sharing settings

  • Click “Link Preview”

  • Upload your custom preview image

  • Set your custom title and description

  • Save changes – your new preview will appear anywhere the link is shared

Pro Tip

For best results, use a horizontal image with a 1200×630 px resolution to ensure it looks perfect on all major platforms.
