What Are Permission Settings?
Permission Settings in PIKD let you decide exactly what actions a visitor can perform when they view your shared gallery. You have full control over whether they can:
Rate – Give star ratings to images
Set Flags – Mark images with color labels for culling or selection
Comment – Leave written feedback on images
Add Scribbles – Draw directly on the image for visual feedback
How It Works
You can:
Allow all actions (default for Free plan)
Enable/disable each action individually for more control (Pro only)
Decide if visitors must identify themselves before taking actions (Pro only)
Identification Option – "Require User Identity for Actions"
When enabled, visitors must enter their name before viewing the link. This is mandatory—they cannot stay anonymous or rename themselves later.
Why it’s useful:
Ensures you always know who gave feedback
Avoids confusion when multiple people collaborate
Helps with accountability in professional workflows
Free vs. Pro Features
Feature | Free Plan | Pro Plan |
Allow ratings, flags, comments, scribbles | ✅ All enabled by default | ✅ Enable/disable individually |
Visitor stays anonymous by choice | ✅ Default setting | ❌ If “Require Identity” is enabled |
Require visitor identity before viewing | ❌ | ✅ |
Customize permissions per gallery link | ❌ All actions always on | ✅ Full per-link control |
Why This Matters
Cleaner Feedback – Control which tools clients can use, preventing unnecessary flags or scribbles when not needed.
Focused Reviews – Disable features that aren’t relevant to a specific project.
Accountability – Always know who made a comment or rating when “Require User Identity” is active.
How to Set Permissions (Pro)
Open your gallery’s Share Settings
Scroll to Permissions
Toggle each action on/off as needed
(Optional) Enable Require User Identity for Actions for named feedback only
Save and share your link
Pro Tip
When delivering a final selection, turn off flags and scribbles so clients focus only on ratings or comments. For team collaboration, require identity to track input from each team member.
